The bottomline here is to give the user an idea where he is, and trace him a path to trackback to a more general category.

Next come the images. Generous use of images is recommended. Images are the easiest tools to grab the attention of the user. The images must be strategically placed, and should be sharp, clear, and relevant. Additional images that provide alternate views and pictures of the item in question should be put up to give the user an idea about how the item looks from different angles and in various colors. The central image should be of the item and has to be the largest of them all.

Images will not do enough to make the user buy your product. You have to sell your product, so write the sweetest parts of the item being sold on the webpage. Some ecommerce websites go further and write down opinions and user reviews of the product; but again, it is all up to you as to how your ecommerce should have and look like.

Now for the more intricate details of the ecommerce webpage. Today people like to share things around the Internet that they like and think would be beneficial for others as well. Moral of the story – put up sharing links right away! The sharing links may include emailing the link to friends and family, or a link to social networking and bookmarking websites. The product title should be clearly visible, and should be coherent to the product. But remember, be clear, be coherent, and give the user an experience that he would keep coming back for more, and likely recommend your ecommerce website to others.
